Our Approach
A one-room school rooted in the Word of God, empowering students through rigorous academics and real-life learning.
One-Room School Model
Cornerstone Leadership Academy follows a one-room school model where students of all ages learn and grow together like family. This time-tested model formed America’s early leaders, teaching academics and character, responsibility, and collaboration.
Older students deepen their understanding by helping younger peers, while younger students are inspired by older role models. Lessons are coordinated across subjects to demonstrate the hand of God in history, science, language arts, and math, cultivating a Biblical worldview and challenging each child at their level.
How We Teach
We teach from a Biblical worldview. Students move at their own pace with individualized attention, honoring the way God designed each child.
- Language arts, math, and Bible are taught in the mornings. Science, history, art, and music are taught in the afternoons.
- Enrichment hours are dedicated to life skills, hands-on projects, agrarian skills, and other activities that strengthen understanding of core subjects.
This approach builds responsibility, work ethic, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership.
Curriculum
My Father’s World curriculum is combines the best of Charlotte Mason’s methodology, classical education, and unit studies. It offers a rigorous program of study, rich in Biblical principles with God’s truth woven throughout every subject.
Stern Mathematics is a proven manipulative-based curriculum (since the 1920s) that develops number sense and deep conceptual understanding through multi-sensory, hands-on learning.
Afternoons focus on real-life learning. Students learn skills through projects, field trips, and guest speakers to reinforce principles taught in the morning.
What CLA Families Are Saying
Choosing a school is a big decision. Here’s what our families have experienced at Cornerstone Leadership Academy.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Cornerstone Leadership Academy. From the very first day, the instructors made Finn feel safe, welcomed, and excited to learn. The nurturing environment, engaging activities, and thoughtful curriculum have helped him grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.
The staff truly cares about each child and takes the time to understand their individual needs and personalities.
It gives us peace of mind knowing our son is in a place where he is supported, encouraged, and genuinely loved. We feel fortunate to be part of such an amazing community and highly recommend CLA to any family looking for a positive, enriching childhood experience.
— The Walver Family
What an absolute blessing it is to have a little school in the area that is dedicated to teaching our children about reading, writing, math, science, and Jesus!
We have loved the individualized style of learning for our children over this past year. I have never seen a school with this much hands-on learning. CLA is teaching even 3- and 4-year-old students things that are so important for them to learn for adulthood. They have made homemade pizza and muffins, built stools out of wood, and gardened. They have gone on so many educational field trips to learn about many different life skills and careers. And at the center of it all is God’s word.
The academics are amazing. Our preschool-aged children are recognizing colors and letters. They are starting to spell more than just their names, and our daughter is even adding and subtracting numbers!
The educators are loving and compassionate. They discipline in a way that gains the respect of the child and corrects their behavior. I have noticed a significant change in my children’s temperament at home since starting CLA.
We highly recommend giving our tiny school a chance if you’re considering this program for your family!
